The Peruvian singer and performer Yma Sumac was a phenomenon because of her incredible vocal range which was said to be "well over four octaves", ascending from ‘female baritone, through lyric soprano, to high coloratura’. Very often in her songs she uses all her voice span and it is difficult to believe that the "baritone" and the "soprano" is the same person. Yma Sumac was said to have been a descendant of Inca kings, an Incan princess that was one of the Golden Virgins. Her album covers took advantage of her strange costumes and voluptuous figure, and in early 50's she was a legend worldwide with millions of sales. This excellent 3CD compilation includes all Sumac's great hits. Enjoy a unique exotic musical experience with the incredible voice of one of the most flamboyant singers of all time.
